             FEDERAL NEURO-PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITAL YABA, LAGOS COMMEMORATES THE 2023 WORLD HEPATITIS DAY

 The Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Yaba in partnership with Trusted Pharmacy and Chemist of West Africa, and Zolon Healthcare Ltd joined the rest of the world to commemorate the World Hepatitis Day, 2023 Edition with the theme “HEPATITIS CAN’T WAIT’’.


The event aimed at creating awareness globally on the implications and burden of the viral hepatitis to individuals and the society at large. Participants were drawn from the management staff and the hospital community.


The Chief host, in the person of the Medical Director, Dr. O. A. Owoeye, in his welcome Address, appreciated the Harvey Road Community Clinic of the hospital headed by Dr. A. M. Adegbite, (Consultant family physician and co-host) for organizing the event that would go a long way to sensitize the public on their wellbeing.


Emphasis was made on the importance of screening and vaccination to prevent contracting Hepatitis, while appreciating the theme for the year which is: ‘Hepatitis can’t wait’ because of the tone of urgency in it, considering the grave complications associated with it.


Dr. Abosede Adegbite in her special address, appreciated the Medical Director and his team for supporting the commemoration activities. Dr. Adegbite stated that everywhere in the world on 28th July of every year, stake holders celebrate world Hepatitis day.
She said that the risk of Hepatitis is ever present especially in a Hospital environment such as ours. She encouraged everyone in the audience to avail themselves of the free screening that accompanied the years World Hepatitis Day celebration.


Dr. Faith Ibishola in her presentation also appreciated the Management for supporting the commemoration day, she stated that the date was chosen because of the birthday of Dr. Baruch Blumberg who discovered Hepatitis B in 1967.


Hepatitis according to her is an inflammation of the liver and is transmissible through contact with blood and body fluids of infected persons. She spoke on the strains of Hepatitis, mode of transmission, treatment and prevention. Hence, she emphasized that screening and vaccination remain the most accurate method of prevention while advising against the risk factors such as; sharing of sharp objects, recapping of needles, unhygienic personal practices and multiple sexual partners. Also, that early treatment prevents deterioration to liver Cirrhosis and liver cancer is a reason to know ones status. At the end of the event, free hepatitis screening was done. However, hepatitis screening and vaccination are available at the Harvey Road Community Clinic of the Federal Neuro- Psychiatric Hospital, Yaba.

HARVEY TENNIS CLUB

On August 20, 2021 the Harvey Tennis club, made up of friends and staff of the hospital formally hand over the newly refurbished hospital tennis court to the hospital management.

The chairman of the club and Chief Executive officer of Prisms Clinic and Diagnostic Centre, Dr Kuti thanked the Medical Director, Dr O. A Owoeye for the opportunity given the members to make use of the hospital tennis court and also to refurbish it.

He said the work of refurbishing the court was achieved through the collective efforts of members who generously donated towards improving the lighting and reconstruction of the tennis court. The club members also donated a dozen Plastic chairs.

He thanked management for granting the approval to carry out the project. He said the gesture was the club little way of giving back to the hospital.
He prayed for a successful tenure for the new Medical Director, Dr O.A Owoeye.
The Medical Director, Dr Owoeye in response thanked the executives and the entire members of the Harvey Tennis Club for the refurbishing of the Tennis Court, fixing of the lightings as well as donation of plastic chairs at the Tennis Court.
He said the improvements of this facility will go a long way in improving the health status of members and other users of the tennis court.
Dr Owoeye appeals to individuals and organizations to come to the aide of the hospital in helping to fund projects in the hospital, this is because government alone cannot fund health care system.

  1. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
  2. Evidence of Certificate of Incorporation issued by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) including Form CAC 1.1 or CAC2 and CAC7;
  3. Evidence of Company’s Income Tax Clearance Certificate for the last three (3) years valid till 31st December, 2021.
  4. Evidence of current Pension Compliance Certificate valid till 31st December, 2021;
  5. Evidence of current Industrial Training Fund (ITF) Compliance Certificate valid till 31st December, 2021;
  6. Evidence of current Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) Compliance Certificate valid till 31st December, 2021.
  7. Evidence of Registration on the National Database of Federal Contractors, Consultants and Service Providers by submission of Interim Registration Report (IRR) expiring on 31/12/2021 or valid Certificate issued by BPP;
  8. Company Audited Accounts for the last three (3) Years (i.e. 2018, 2019 and 2020)
  9. h. Sworn Affidavit:
  10. disclosing whether or not any officer of the relevant committees of the FNPH, Yaba or the Bureau of Public Procurement, is a former or present Director, shareholder or has any pecuniary interest in the bidder and to confirm that all information presented in its bid is true and correct in all particulars;
  11. that none of the Directors of the company has ever been convicted by any Court of Law

iii. that the Company is not bankrupt or a party to liquidation proceedings in any Court of Law;

  1. Verifiable documentary evidence of at least three (3) similar jobs executed in the last five (5) years including Letters of award, Valuation Certificates, Completion Certificates and Photographs of the projects..
  1. Evidence of financial capability of the company to execute the project by submission of reference letter from a reputable commercial bank indicating willingness to provide credit facility for the execution of the project when needed.
  1. Company’s Profile with the Curriculum Vitae of Key Staff to be deployed for the project, including copies of their Academic/Professional qualifications such as COREN, QSRBN, ARCON, CORBON etc. for Category A.
  1. For Joint Venture/Partnership, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) should be provided (CAC, Tax Clearance Certificate, Pension Compliance Certificate, ITF Compliance Certificate, NSITF Compliance Certificate, IRR & Sworn Affidavit are compulsory for each JV partner).
  1. All documents for submission must be transmitted with a covering/Forwarding letter under the Company/Firm’s Letter Head Paper bearing among others, the Registration Number (RC), Contact Address, Telephone Number (Preferably GSM) and E-mail Address. The Letter Head Paper must bear the names and Nationalities of the Directors of the Company at the bottom of the page duly signed by authorized officer of the firm.
  1. COLLECTION OF TENDER DOCUMENTS

The tender documents are to be collected from Procurement Office (Ground floor Administrative Building) FNPH, Yaba between the working hours of 08.00am and 04.00pm daily upon the payment of non-refundable Tender Fee of N10,000.00 per LOT into the hospital’s REMITA’s Account in any reputable commercial bank in Nigeria and presentation of the copy of hospital’s receipt. The photocopy of the receipt should be attached to the Tender Documents.

 

  1. SUBMISSION OF TENDER DOCUMENTS

Completed tender documents should be two hard copies (Marked “Original” & “Copy”) each for both Technical & Financial Bids with Soft copy of Financial bid only in MS Excel Format, packaged in two separate sealed envelopes clearly marked at the top right corner of each envelope stating the title of the project i.e. “TECHNICAL BIDS FOR LOT 1:” & “FINANCIAL BIDS FOR LOT 1:” and at the reverse side the name of the company should boldly be written. Both envelopes shall then be put in a large envelope clearly marked at the top right corner stating the title of the project and the name and address of the company at the reverse side and be dropped in the appropriate Tender Box at hospital’s board room- Administrative Building. The envelope should be addressed to:

The submission should be made not later than 12:00 noon on Friday 17th September, 2021. Late submission will be returned un-opened. Please make sure you sign Bid Submission Register at point of submission as the hospital will not be responsible for misplaced or wrongly submitted Bids.

 

  1. OPENING OF TECHNICAL BIDS

Only the technical bids will be opened immediately after the deadline for submission at 12:00 noon on Friday 17th September, 2021 at the Hospital’s board room.

 

  1. NOTATION

 Bids must be in English Language and duly signed by official authorized by the bidder;

 Bidders should not bid for more than two (2) Lots;

 This publication is for information purpose only and does not constitute an offer by the Hospital to transact with any party for the project, nor does it constitute a commitment or an obligation on the part of the Hospital to award the contract to any contractor or agent.

 The Hospital will not be responsible for any cost or expenses incurred by interested company (ies) in connection with any response to this invitation and/or preparation or submission of the documents;

 Only pre-qualified bidders at technical evaluation will be invited at a later date for financial bids opening, while the financial bids of un-successful bidders will be returned un-opened;

 The FNPH, Yaba is not bound to pre-qualify any bidder and reserves the right to annul the Procurement process at any time without incurring any liabilities in accordance with Section 28 of the Public Procurement Act 2007;
