FEMALE WARD OSHODI

This is a 23 bedded ward. It is headed by ADNS Okebugwu.

The ward admits acute, chronic and geriatric cases. It presently have 4 paupers.

 

 

CORE NURSING DUTIES

• Handing and taking over of patients and the ward.

• Bedmaking.

• Serving of meals and medications.

• Taking patients to occupational therapy department and ensuring their active participation in  

     the activities.

•  Care of patients using nursing care plan.

• Weekly weighing.

• Checking of vital signs.

• Reporting and documentation of ward activities, patients progress etc.

• Counselling/ psychoeducation of patients.

• Review of patients with other members of the health team.

• Liase with patient's relatives on needs and progress.

• Coordination of ward activities in collaboration with other members of the health team.

• Implementation of the hospital policy.

• Daily and weekly assessment of patients' physical and mental state and proper documentation of of findings.

• Proper discharge plan, referral and follow up care of patients.
