Welcome to Psychology DepartmentThe department of psychology in Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Yaba has grown through various stages to become a full-fledged department providing wide range of qualitative psychological services for communities in Lagos State and its environs. It started as a one man department till it evolved to be a full-fledged department. The department operates both in Yaba (main site) and Oshodi (annex), within Lagos State but different Local Government Areas. The main site at Yaba is a reference Centre in the field of assessment and interventions with state-of-the-art equipment and full compliments of a modern Hospital operating with best global practices. The Annex at Oshodi also operates at full capacity with qualified staff. |

Oshodi Annex
ACTIVITIES OF THE DEPARTMENT IN OSHODI ANNEX
The department is part of the mental health team in Child and Adolescent Clinic in Oshodi where various psychological issues that affects children are attended too.
The department has established a sub department in Oshodi Annex due to the new status of Oshodi. The department participates in the Consultant Ward round in Oshodi Annex. The department also attends to Patients referred for assessment and psychotherapy daily in Oshodi and also organizes group therapy for substance Patients.
INTERNSHIP/CLINICAL EXPERIENCE/ INDUSTRIAL ATTACHMENT
The department provides platform for undergraduate and postgraduate students to undergo their internship program, industrial attachment as well as training professionals on enhancing clinical practice. The department receives students from different universities in Nigeria as well as students from outside the country.
